Make an extension to have more time to fund a SEP-IRA contribution. You may not have the money until later in the year to fund a contribution from the previous year, but the government gives you six more months to do so simply by filing an extension. This allows you (in normal years) to fund a SEP-IRA for the previous year until October 15 of the following year.
